So, I’m peeking through the window in a place I have been curious about for some time across the street from Pacific and Ancient Chinese Foot Massage. I’m looking for new blood. A lady opens the door and helps me because most of the window is printed in Chinese. I was thinking maybe the Chinese writing is a good cover. Well it isn’t. She convinces me to try it as its only $25/hr. I follow her in and she takes me to the foot massage chair. I say I want full body in the private room and she says chair first then go back. I go with it and sit down. 4 people are working, two men and two women and three of them leave and go next door. One man stays behind. The second man comes back a few moments later with a cauldron of hot water and puts it in front of me. Quickly I get flashbacks from a time I was in China and was taken for a massage by business associates. I do nothing but freeze and think, “no, not a man massage.” The women are gone and the men don’t speak English. I figure I wait for one of them and then ask to switch, but no return. I’m not digging this experience as the man starts the foot massage. 30 min later when he is ready to take me to the back room I tell him I can’t stay, no more time. He doesn’t understand so I pay him the $25 for 1 hr and start to leave. He says in English, “tip please.” I say not 1 hr but I give him $25, then walk out. He’s not happy, but neither was I. So much for that experience and it’s the last time I stay quiet. Remember, if a man brings you the water for your massage, he is likely going to do the massage.
