The cost is gonna double in 5 years and your employer is going to put everyone on the exchange and just pay part of the premium and you will pay the difference. It hard to tell what healthcare will look like down the road but it aint gonna be cheaper

Nonsense. By then, the next Democratic President, a woman of course, with the democratic House and Senate, will have taken out the greedy weasels out of the system, and the single payer plan will show cost reductions in health care for the first time. Meanwhile, in newly independent Texas, people will pay more for mediocre health care than they pay for their mortgage.... The worst thing is that they won't have money left for mongering, and if you've seen the US map of prostitution, we're talking lone star teen material...

To answer HughG my buddy has a girl that comes over and cleans his house, fucks him, travels around with him and he pays her $100-$200 a month depending on what she does and how often. A short time whore from a bar (2 hours) is $10 and all night is $20. Realistically you can live there for less than $1000 a month or live really really well for $2000 a month. Annual visas are easy. $175 a year and you don't have to return to your home country to renew, just go to the office and pay for the renewal over and over. Much easier than Thailand, VN, PI etc that don't have long stay visa options. They have retirement visas but they have age restrictions and you have to show that you have a good income (Thailand is over $2000 a month) or you have to deposit a large amount of money in a bank account and leave it there. |

Back to the topic of "Obama care" aka "Covered California." There are some hospitals that are refusing "Covered California" cantracts because for one thing the reimbursement is too low for the hospital to make a profit. For another reason:The evil Obama care is funding abortions and gasp! B-B-B- birth control. Catholic Hospitals cannot sully their hands with the blood tinged money of baby killer insurance. Some of those places [hospitals] are going to go out of business because of lost patients when employers start dumping their employees insurance so the employees can get Socialist baby killer Obama Care Covered California insurance. I read the enrolement numbers of Obama care has greatly exceeded expectations. Satan laughs and spreads his wing high. It is strange and twisted world we live in baby. Maybe the Catholic Hospitals will become bareback mega big massage parlors that don't use condoms like the old Santa Monica Oriental II? Those places made a profit and I don't think they killed babies.

I listen to the Doctors talk. I don't engage I just listen to them from their various points of view. One particular Doctor I was listening to was talking about all the crappy cases he takes. He comes in in the middle of the night for poor uninsured patients who have appendicitis or whatever emergency type thing that can't be blown off and delayed till daytime. [I work night 3 times a week} He was talking about the dumbness of refusing to take Obama care contract for a hospital. He says "That in my opinion is a very poor choice for a hospital to make. A hospital that refuses Covered California contracts. Those hospitals are liable to get really slow in the not so far away future and go out of business. I would rather be here working and making a little money than sitting at home and not making any money at all. So that is why I take "panel call" so much. I don't get paid much for it but I do get paid." Obama Care sad to say is the future. You can try to deny it but that does not change the fact. It is here.
Just like when “managed care” started to be implemented in around the late 90’s. This is the other "shoe to drop" of managed care. The “fee for service” doctors miss the good old days when they could bill a patient for every pill and bandade. I mean they can bill all they want but insurance has “DRG” on each diagnosis. DRG stands for "diagnostic related grouping": Say the DRG for diagnosis "Appendicitis" is insurance will pay the doctor $10,000.00 start to finnish. So the doctor can do everything he wants to treat this this patient. Any fancy technology he wants. DeVinci Robot, Argon beam, CO 2 laser, YAG laser harmonic scalpel, stem cells, platelet rich plasma. He has the world of technology at his disposal. The only catch: Doc has to treat patient for less than $10,000 to make a profit. If it costs Dr $11,000.00 to treat this appendix patient then the Dr is going to eat $1000.00 loss unless Dr. can extract the unpaid balance out of the penniless pauper of a patient he got stuck with. Go ahead and try Doctor to get your money from this dude. "Juan Mendoza" does not have a home address social security number or working phone. He is not employed either. Which is why boob jobs for providors are so profitable. Usually unless it is post mastectomy cancer reconstruction, breast augs are cash only. Pure profit. Oh for the good old days. Interesting stories Ichi. The govt is trying to force us onto their plan but they put nothing in the law to force the doctors to accept it. It's like forcing a CPA to do income taxes for poor people they will just refuse to accept the work and keep doing the work for their rich clients. There are plenty of others to do the tax returns for the poor but u can't have someone just step up and do open heart surgery

It is a some what free country that we live in. The Doctor pretty much can refuse a patient if he has not already assumed care of said patient "Stark anti-patient dumping law."
It comes down to the question: Does the doctor want to make some money or no money. That is the choice. I guarantee there will be some Dr willing to step up to the plate. The new Doctors don't know about "the good old days." The old doctors are talking about leaving medicine. It is their choice. I listen to the talk. They really do talk about the "good old days" and it is time to get a new gig. The new ones don't say that so much. It is the "old schoolers" who talk about how medicine has declined and the money is "no good." "No good" is a relative term. They make more money than me. Like at least 3 or 4 times more. I would take that "no good money." |
